How to divert an incoming call straight to a mobile number?

If there is an instance where you do not want to a DID number to go to an extension, and instead want it to go straight to a mobile number, there is several ways you can achieve this.

1. Using Call Forwarding in User's Extension

Create a user/extension and activate Call Forwarding. Under Mode select All Calls, for Incoming Call Type select All Calls and Call Forward To enter the mobile number.

From the DID Management page, assign the DID to the recently created extension.

This would mean that whenever there is an incoming call for the DID number, the system will send the call to the extension, which will then instantly forward the call to the mobile number entered in Call Forward To.

2. Using a Hunt Group

Another way to do this is by creating a Hunt Group. In Stage 1, you can enter the mobile number that you would like the call to be diverted to. Adjust the Duration accordingly.

From the DID Management page, assign the DID to the recently created Hunt Group.

This would mean that whenever there is an incoming call for the DID number, the system will send the call to the Hunt Group, which will then instantly forward the call to the mobile number as defined in Stage 1.

3. Using an IVR together with a Hunt Group

If you want the caller to listen to your business IVR and depending on their selection go directly to a mobile number, create an IVR and upload your desired media file for the prompt. Let's say that when the user presses 1, you want the call to be diverted to a mobile number.

You will first need to create a Hunt Group as described above and enter the mobile number you want the call diverted to.

Then in the IVR settings, under Options and Digit that corresponds to 1, select the recently created Hunt Group.

This would mean that whenever there is an incoming call for the DID number, the caller will first hear your IVR and if they should press 1 on their keypad, the system will forward the call to the Hunt Group which in turn will call the mobile number.

You can also achieve this by creating a user/extension, by turning on Call Forwarding, as described above.
