A subsequent installation charge will be incurred for the installation of a second (or additional) nbn service, at a premises that already has a connected nbn service, in areas served by nbn co.
In areas served by the nbn co FTTC, FTTP, HFC and Fixed Wireless networks, a subsequent installation applies if an additional NTU/NTD is required to be installed to provide a service.
For FTTP requests for additional Data services where there are available Uni-D ports, the subsequent install charge will not apply.
In areas served by the nbn co FTTC, FTTN and FTTB networks, subsequent installation also applies:
Transfer and Transition
The ‘Transfer Service Availability’ flag in the SQ should be used to help determine if a Transfer or Transition can be done rather than a New Connect.
There are three potential responses, see below; these responses take into account all NBN services irrespective of service provider.
What to do
To help reduce the chances of being charged for this type of installation we recommend following the below processes.
By requesting new connections to order a Broadband service in areas served by the nbn co FTTC, FTTN and FTTB networks may result in nbn co installing a new copper pair, and therefore may result in a subsequent installation charge being applied.
