What are the NCD Installation Options?

Service Class | Installation Options in Octane |
|---|---|
| 31 | NBN Professional Installation |
| 32 | NBN Professional Installation |
| 33 | NBN Professional Installation Self Installation |
| 34 | NBN Professional Installation Self Installation Existing |
NBN Professional Install
The NCD (Network Connection Device) will be installed by an NBN Tech and will require an appointment. For SC31/32 orders, the NBN tech will complete this work for free as part of the overall installation. However, for SC33/34 orders NBNCo will charge for a technician going out, as they provide the option of a self install.
Self Installation
A Network Connection Device will be sent to the customer’s specified Delivery Address and they will need to install the NCD at home themselves.
Existing
This option is only available for SC34 orders. It is used to indicate that the customer already has a working NCD and does not need a new one. This is the default option for SC34 orders and should be picked unless the Customer advises that they don’t have a working NCD at their premises and need a replacement.
When will i get charged for NBN Professional Installation?
You will be charged an Installation Fee if you select the NBN Professional Installation option for an SC33 or SC34 order.
The reason for this is because an NBN Technician doesn’t need to come out to your premises in these situations, and nbnCo expects that the NCD can be self installed by the Customer.
On successful submission of your order, you will be able to confirm and see if an Installation Fee will be charged on your order.
